Looking for bathtub or shower reglazing in Carlsbad? Adamov Reglazing restores fiberglass, acrylic, porcelain, and cast iron tubs, showers, and shower pans across Carlsbad, San Diego County, and Orange County — ready to use in about 7 hours, backed by a 4-year warranty, with no hidden costs. Reglazing instead of replacing saves thousands of dollars and days of demolition mess.
Carlsbad ranges from older homes in the Village to the large developments built from the 1980s onward, and a great many of those bathrooms have fiberglass shower pans and tub surrounds. Set into tile the way they usually are, replacing one means taking the surround apart along with it — which is why refinishing is so often the better answer when the pan itself is still sound.
We handle:
Here’s a shower pan we brought back in Carlsbad, and the before-and-after tells most of the story on its own.
The floor of the pan had gone heavily stained and discolored — mineral deposits and years of buildup worked across the whole surface, with rust-colored marks creeping in along the edges and the caulk at the curb long past its life. That’s the condition where homeowners usually stop cleaning and start getting replacement quotes, because no amount of scrubbing moves it.
But the pan itself was in good shape. No major chips, no cracks, no soft spots underfoot — nothing structurally wrong with it at all. What had failed was the surface, and a surface can be replaced without touching the pan or the tile around it.
So this one was straightforward. We started with a deep cleaning, working the entire pan down to a clean, sound base. That step carries most of the weight on a job like this: the staining has to come off along with the soap film and the mineral film, because a coating bonds to the surface itself and not to anything sitting on top of it.
Then we ran fresh caulk around the pan, sealing the seams where it meets the tile and the curb. The old caulk had discoloured and pulled away, which is both what made the edges look so tired and how water finds its way behind a pan in the first place. Running the new bead before the spray means it gets coated along with everything else, so the finished edge reads as one continuous surface rather than a separate line sitting on top.
After masking the surrounding tile and the rest of the room to contain the overspray, we sprayed the bright white finish in even coats.
The result is in the photo. A pan that had gone grey and blotchy across the entire floor came out smooth, glossy, and uniformly bright white, with clean edges all the way around — and the tile, the walls, and the plumbing were never touched.
Most are. If the pan is solid underfoot and the problem is staining, discoloration, dullness, or minor chips, refinishing brings it back and costs a fraction of a replacement.
The honest exception is a pan with a soft or flexing floor, or cracks that go through it — at that point water is getting underneath and a new surface would only cover the problem. We’ll tell you which one you have rather than sell you a coating over a failing pan.
Every job finishes the same way: we hand over a post-care kit and our cleaning recommendations, so you know exactly how to keep the finish looking sharp.
This job was in Carlsbad, and we cover the surrounding San Diego County cities just as easily — Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, and Del Mar — along with all of Orange County.
Stains that won’t scrub out, a dull pan, or caulk that’s given up — call (310) 401-4491 for an honest estimate and we’ll tell you straight whether reglazing is the right move.
