Here’s a reglazing job from a repeat customer — and it’s the third bathroom we’ve done for this homeowner.
This one was the full job: the bathtub and all the tile walls around it. The bathroom wasn’t in bad condition, but it wasn’t fresh either. There was silicone left from the shower frame and running around the top of the tub, several chips in the tub itself, and the homeowner also asked us to fill the screw holes where the old shower frame had been mounted.
We started with the silicone — off the shower frame area and off the tub all the way around the top. That always comes first on a job like this, because nothing bonds over silicone and any residue left behind will lift the finish in exactly that spot. Then a deep cleaning across the tub and the full tile field, working the grout lines out along with the smooth surfaces, since a coating grips the surface itself rather than anything sitting on top of it.
With the surface clean, we ran new caulk, then filled the chips in the tub and the screw holes from the old frame, bringing each one flush with the surrounding surface. Filling the holes matters for more than looks — an open screw hole is a path for water to get behind the surface, so sealing them properly is part of the repair rather than just the finish.
Then the masking, and this room needed particular care: the ceiling had recently been painted. Overspray drifts as a fine mist and settles on whatever is left uncovered, and fresh paint is the last thing you want it landing on. So we covered the ceiling thoroughly along with the floor, fixtures, and everything else outside the work area before any product came out.
Then we sprayed the tub and the walls together in bright white. Coating both in the same pass is what gives you a single, continuous surface — the tub and the surround cure as one finish rather than two that don’t quite match.
The bathroom came out bright and uniform from the floor of the tub to the top of the tile, with no trace of the old silicone, the chips, or the screw holes.
