We started with a thorough deep cleaning of the entire tub. So we cleaned the surface down to the point where it was ready to take primer — not just looking tidy, but chemically clean.
With the tub clean, we turned to the grout and ran fresh caulk along the joint for a tighter seal. Sealing that line keeps water from working its way into the seam over time, which is one of the quiet ways a tub starts to fail from the edges in.
