Bathtub reglazing services in Norco

Norco is horse country — large lots, ranch homes, and a lot of single-family rental property, much of it built from the 1960s through the 80s. Those bathrooms typically have one-piece fiberglass tub and shower combinations that are structurally fine but dull and dated after years of use. We refinish them in place, in a day, whether you’re a homeowner tired of looking at it or an owner turning a property between tenants.

We handle:

  • Fiberglass and acrylic tub & shower combo reglazing
  • Porcelain and cast iron tub reglazing
  • Chip, crack, and hole repair
  • Tenant turnover work on single-family rentals
  • Shower stall, shower pan, and enclosure refinishing
  • Tile, grout, vanity top, and sink refinishing

A recent job: fiberglass enclosure refinishing in Norco, CA

Here’s a recent fiberglass enclosure refinishing project we completed in Norco, and this one came from a landlord — which is a big part of who calls us. He had tenants moving out and new ones coming in, and he wanted to update the look of the bathroom before handing over the keys. Anyone who owns rental property knows that window between tenants is when all the work has to happen, and it has to happen fast and on budget. Ripping out a tub and shower combination and replacing it would have blown both. Refinishing it made a lot more sense, so he hired us to reglaze the unit.

The enclosure itself didn’t have any major issues. No cracks, no holes, no peeling — just the normal wear and dullness that builds up after years of tenants using it day in and day out. A fiberglass unit in that condition is the perfect candidate for refinishing, because all it really needs is to look new again, and that’s exactly what we deliver.

We started with a deep cleaning, same as always. On a rental unit this step matters even more than usual, because you’re dealing with years of buildup from people who weren’t necessarily babying the place. Soap scum, hard water deposits, body oils — all of it has to come off completely, top to bottom. The coating bonds to the surface, not to whatever’s sitting on the surface, so there are no shortcuts here. We scrubbed the entire combination down until it was completely clean and ready.

After the cleaning, we ran fresh caulking all the way around the unit. Old caulk on a rental is usually tired — dingy, cracked, pulling away at the corners — and there’s no point putting a fresh finish on a unit that’s still framed by old caulk lines. The new bead seals the whole unit up against water at every seam and gives it that crisp, finished edge that makes the bathroom read clean the second a prospective tenant walks in.

Then we masked everything off. All the fixtures got taped and covered, along with the walls, the floor, and every area surrounding the unit. Spraying throws a fine overspray that will drift onto anything left exposed, and in a property that’s getting shown to new tenants soon, the rest of that bathroom needs to stay exactly as it is. We seal it all off before a drop of product goes down.

With the room protected, we set up our commercial exhaust blower for ventilation. It pulls the fumes out of the property instead of letting them settle into the place right before someone moves in — which matters when the next tenant walks through days later.

Then we sprayed the unit with a bright white polyurethane coating. Polyurethane is a tough, durable finish that holds up to daily use, which is exactly what you want in a rental — a surface that’s going to keep looking good tenant after tenant. The whole tub and shower combination came out smooth, glossy, and bright white, looking like it had just been installed.

The landlord was extremely satisfied. His bathroom went from tired and dated to move-in ready, the property shows beautifully, and he got there for a fraction of what a replacement would have cost — without the demolition, the plumbing work, or the downtime.

Where refinishing fits in a turnover

If you’re working through a turnover, the order you schedule things in makes a real difference. Here’s how we’d sequence it:

  1. Any demolition or plumbing work first. If something is actually being replaced, that happens before we arrive — no point putting a fresh finish on a tub that’s about to have a wall opened next to it.
  2. Reglazing next, before painting and flooring. This is the one most people get backwards. We mask thoroughly, but there’s no reason to risk a brand-new floor or fresh paint when the finish could just go on first. Reglaze, then paint, then floors.
  3. Allow about seven hours of cure time. The tub is usable the same day. Practically, if we start in the morning, the bathroom is back in service that evening.
  4. Final cleaning last. Your turnover clean happens after we’re gone, so the bathroom is spotless for showings — and the fresh caulk lines and bright finish are what a prospective tenant notices first.

Booked that way, refinishing doesn’t extend your turnover at all — it fits inside a day you were already using for other work.

Every job finishes the same way: we hand over a post-care kit and our cleaning recommendations, which is worth passing along to your tenant. Gentle cleaners and no abrasive pads, and the finish holds up through tenant after tenant instead of dulling out in a year.

This job was in Norco, and we cover the neighboring cities just as easily — Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Riverside, and Chino.

Landlords, property managers, homeowners — if your unit is structurally sound but showing its age, refinishing is the fastest, most affordable way to make it new again.

Ilia is amazing at what he does and I whole heartedly recommend him. We have an old cast iron tub that has been reglazed once before, but it suddenly started peeling. I called Ilia, who answered right away, and said that he could come out on a holiday weekend to do the job. He was always prompt and courteous in his communications and his work was top notch!
