Here’s something a lot of folks in the high desert don’t realize: once hard water etches a fiberglass shower, no cleaner is going to bring it back. You can scrub until your arm gives out and the surface still looks cloudy and chalky, because the damage isn’t a film on top — the minerals have actually etched into the finish. The new surface is sealed and smooth, so the minerals have far less to grab onto than they did on the worn-out original. Keeping it nice out here mostly comes down to staying ahead of the water: a quick wipe-down after use, gentle cleaning, and steering clear of harsh abrasives. Do that and it stays bright far longer than the factory finish ever did against this water.

A factory fiberglass surface was never sealed to fight that, which is why it clouds over in a few years. The job itself is a single day, with a short cure window before the shower goes back into use, and it’s warrantied. What I apply is properly prepped, primed, and sealed to hold up to the conditions.
