Vanity refinishing in Murrieta

Here’s a recent vanity reglazing project we completed in Murrieta, and the story behind this one is something we see all the time. The customer was getting his house ready to sell and wanted to update the look of his bathroom without sinking remodel money into a home he was about to hand over to someone else. Smart move. The bathroom is one of the first rooms buyers judge, and an outdated vanity can drag the whole space down even when everything else looks fine.

That was exactly the situation here. He had a double vanity, and honestly, it was in solid shape. No chips, no cracks, no major damage at all. The problem was purely cosmetic — the surface had discolored over the years and the whole thing just looked dated. Twenty or thirty years of daily use will do that to a vanity top. The color shifts, the finish dulls, and no amount of scrubbing brings it back, because the wear is in the surface itself. He didn’t need a new vanity. He needed the one he had to look new again, and that’s exactly what countertop refinishing is for.

We started the way we start every job — with a deep cleaning. Even on a vanity without damage, there’s years of buildup sitting on that surface. Soap residue, toothpaste, hand lotion, hard water deposits, all the everyday stuff that collects around sinks. Every bit of it has to come off completely, because a coating will only bond to a perfectly clean surface. On a double vanity you’ve got twice the sink area and twice the buildup zones, so we took our time and got the whole top down to clean, bare surface.

After the cleaning, we re-caulked all the way around the vanity for sealing. Old caulk gets dingy, cracks, and pulls away over time, and there’s no point laying a beautiful new finish next to tired old caulk lines. A fresh bead all the way around seals the vanity up against water getting where it shouldn’t and gives the whole top a crisp, finished edge. It’s a small detail, but it’s one of those details buyers notice without knowing exactly what they’re noticing.

Then we masked everything off. The mirror, the faucets, the cabinet below, the walls, the floor — anything that wasn’t getting refinished got taped and covered. Spraying throws a fine overspray that will drift onto every surface in the room if you let it, so we seal the area off completely before any product goes down.

With the room protected, we sprayed the vanity over with a bright finish. Both sinks, the full counter, all of it in one clean, uniform coat. And on this job we went one step further — after the color coat, we sprayed an additional clear coat over the top for durability. That clear layer adds extra protection on a surface that takes daily abuse from water, soap, and everything else a bathroom counter deals with, and it deepens the gloss at the same time.

The end result was a double vanity that came out shiny and looking brand new. The discoloration was gone, the dated look was gone, and the whole bathroom instantly read cleaner and more modern. The customer was extremely satisfied — for a fraction of what a new vanity and installation would have cost, his bathroom was ready to show.
